Blank pages on frontend with Powermail

Some users have had blank frontpages after Powermail is installed and accounts are added. Let me explain this so that it is corrected since this is very annoying and not acceptable to active websites.

1. First to correct this - simply unpublish the system powermail cron which is present under plugins. This should immediately restore your website

2. Second, you must troubleshoot all of your accounts. One faulty account often is the cause for the cron to cycle trying to download emails. If you like, you can unpublish all accounts and republish them one by one with the cron on to find which is bad or use the "test" button to find that bad one.

A second way to fix this is to leave the cron on but simply unpublish any bad account.

Please note that Powermail does not support Joomla 2.51 yet. It does install, but it appears that there are a few bugs within using the cron. We are working on these bugs and hope to have a release shortly.

Hi Guys, im new to joomla and woudl appreciate any help.
When using powermail to upload content to my site all the content is posted in a list. The title with a link to an image i attached. Instead id like it to post simialr to a facebook wall where there is no link. it just displays the title and the image without haviong to click on the link. And all the content i post just continues to post to that page rather than creating seperate pages. Is this the module type i am using or a setting i npowermail?

Joomla Plugins

I have a Joomla plugin to post all my articles' first few characters - the intro text - to my facebook account when articles are created. Somehow this is not triggered when I create an article through this component. I'm trying out the Pro component and I am willing to pay for it too - if this is addressed soon.

Please let me know if it is possible?

Update for Joomla 1.7 version

We are happy to announce that we have made some positive changes for the new Joomla 1.7 version.

First of all, the eDoc plugin has not been available for Joomla 1.7 and many of our users use this plugin for Joomla 1.5 to display their attached google documents such as word, excel or powerpoints.

We have finished updating the eDoc plugin for Joomla 1.7 and will be releasing this over the weekend for the new year. In addition, we are just finishing a new feature that will include folders to put attachments into. This hasn't been available before except for our image folders.

We are also fixing a bug that has caused the component to crash the frontend if attachments of more than 10 mb are included. We hope to have this released in the next week as well.

Please reply to this post if you have other new features that you would like to see incorporated into the Joomla 1.7 version.

Licence number for installation not working

Can U please help me? I have registered for 2 week trial, have received license number, but wneh I put iit after installation into the cpomponent, it keeps saying License Error. I have uninstalled the component and installed again, but the probleb stays the same.

What could be wrong.

Webmails (ziggo) not showing

We have a new correspondent. He is using webmail from ziggo.nl, no pict's just a little story of a futsal footballmatch. From his mails are only the headers showing of the mail and no content at all.

If this mail is forwarded to another PM4J aol.nl mailbox the contents is showing up perfectly (with forwarded text ofcourse).
Unfortunately the demo site isn't accepting any mails since beginning of november, so I couldn't check it with optimal running PM4J. I even upgraded to 1.92 ( as latest is 1.9 it is showing up red ). There is no stripping off text in use. Mails show up normally @mailbox aol.nl (I checked live) also if I retreive them to my computer no problems.
I fear there's some trigger code in the ziggo webmail as all other (web)mails from gmail/aol/yahoo/outlook express etc. (except for incredimail ) are normally processed. What is happening?

PowerMail Pro for Joomla 1.6/1.7 released

We are finally releasing our Joomla 1.7 version after long development. Most components do not take the re-write of code that Powermail does, however the close relation to the articles/sections and categories that Powermail has made for extensive re-writing of the component.

We are releasing v1.92 for J1.7 which essentially has the same features as v1.9 for J1.5 but can be installed in any new Joomla site.

If you do not have download privileges for our updated versions, you can either purchase a new license or purchase an extension for a prior license by logging into our license server at: http://www.givesight.org/software/customers and selecting the license that you wish to update for one year's worth of updates.

When I click on the image in the e-mail it redirect me to an image on the site. (Only image)
Is it possible to make the redirect to the article instead?
That will be more "professional", and look much better, instead of an site with only the image.

Mail retrieval explained (including crons) - very helpful

It is important to understand how mail retrieval happens in Powermail 4 Joomla and I need to explain this again for all users.

1. You must first test all accounts with their respective test buttons to ensure that they are all good. In earlier versions, we had a bug that caused no mail to be retrieved if there was one bad account (and it was published)

A bad account that is not published will not affect this

2. Mail retrieval happens in one of 3 ways

a. "Retrieve content" button in content tab
b. Using the internal plugin powermail cron
c. Using an external cron

3. When mail retrieval happens, if there are more than one active account, currently only one account at a time is retrieved. Each time one of the above methods is run, a different account will be retrieved. We are considering adding having methods a and c retrieve all accounts that are published in the next release.

This can be the explanation why you may not get your mail that may be sitting in the inbox in an account after pushing the "retrieve content" button. (that is, if you have several accounts)

4. We do not recommend using the internal cron for busy websites with a lot of frontend traffic. This will cause a server load that you will not want. In this case, use an external cron and just trigger it every hour or every 30 minutes. The internal cron is run essentially everytime someone hits the frontend of your site.

5. We recommend using the internal cron for slower websites with not as much traffic. This is an easy way to run powermail and will not cause an overload of traffic.

It is possible to assign a image to a pm4j user and have it inserted, but there's no possibility to choose a different map with images to choose from. In order to keep things seperated or re-use already available images it would be nice to have this option.

Strip IncrediMail sign-off?

A very annoying mail service with a sign-off which doesn't let it be removed with the standaard unwanted text stripper for this purpose. Does anyone have a solution and/or work-around, other then manually strip this code part off? (Tidy lib still not active on our site )

Looking for tutorials/docu/examples for image settings

I am looking for some kinda tutorial to help me undestand the image justify option. What does they mean? Adjust to the top: center, right, left. Adjust to the buttom: center, right, left?

I want my image left justified and want the text "wrapped" around the image starting from the image's upper right corner and downards. Is that possible and how to achieve this?

It could be very nice if Powermail automaticly could set some tags to a published K2 content.

How:
An parameter in the user settings where we could set some tags, so when a new content is recived by Powermail it automaticly set the tags from the user tag parameter.

PowerMail Pro for Joomla 1.6 and 1.7

We have good news for the PowerMail community in that we have finished the coding for Joomla 1.6 and 1.7. This project has taken long as it took almost a complete re-write of the code.

We are entering beta testing for this version and are looking for a few more beta testers that would be willing to give us feedback.

In the live demo, when an email was sent the image was thumbed.

I have installed Pro to test on our our server, but I can not get a thumb in the story.

Is this a feature or something else you have installed?

Hello Stan, i am on my 2 week test of powermail pro an for me and a friend it worked fine, but now another friend, a scout too, on tour was writing a mail with a picture and the text was processing fine and shows on the frontpage, but the image is totally ignorated. And in the folder images/stories/users there is not any additional picture.

In Backend > PowerMail-Content > His new content, i can see following under his text with title "Media":

Name is "IMAG0101.jpg" with Type "IMAGE/JPEG", Preview opens a white new window.
